Explosionproof signal towers

 

The explosion-proof signal tower (Ex db IIC T5 Gb, Ex tb IIIC T95°C Db) ensures a better control over all important processes and, consequently, an increased availability of installations in hazardous areas.  The signal towers are an important feature of installations, as with their help it is possible to provide early warning functions that allow the operator to avoid a standstill of the installation.   

 

The explosion-proof signal towers issue visual signals to indicate system statuses. These shall also be easily recognizable from a distance and it shall be possible to assess the information correctly. The colours are according to international standards, blue, orange, white, red, yellow and green and green. The light provided by the high performance LEDs is so bright that it ensures a safe perception of signals, even under extreme conditions. 

 

The dimensions of the explosion-proof signal towers allow a flexible application for all installation conditions. They can be used in explosive gas atmospheres in Zones 1 and 2 and explosive dust atmospheres in Zones 21 and 22. 

 

The polycarbonate enclosure features conductive contact strips to ensure the safe discharge of electrostatic charges. The polycarbonate tube with aluminium end caps (special stainless steel version also available) meets the requirements for the degree of protection IP 68 and, thanks to the high-grade polycarbonate, it has a high impact resistance (IK 10). For the pharmaceutical and food industries it is important that the polycarbonate does not splinter. The explosion-proof signal lamps are supplied complete with a flameproof cable gland and a connection cable with a minimum length of 3m (see also IEC 60079-14, Clause 10.6.1). The ambient temperature range is –20 °C to +60 °C.

 

 

Das Polykarbonat-Gehäuse ist mit leitenden Kontaktstreifen ausgerüstet um eine gefahrlose Ableitung elektrostatischer Aufladungen zu gewährleisten. Das Polykarbonat-Rohr mit den Endkappen aus Aluminium (Sonderausführung auch Edelstahl) erfüllt den IP-Schutzgrad IP 68 sowie eine hohe Schlagfestigkeit (IK 10) dank hochwertigem Polykarbonat. Wichtig für die Pharma- und Nahrungsmittelindustrie ist, dass das Polykarbonat bei mechanischen Schlägen keine Splitter absondert. Die explosionsgeschützten Signalleuchten werden komplett mit einer druckfesten Kabel- und Leitungseinführung und einer Anschlussleitung von mindestens 3 m (siehe auch IEC/EN 60079-14, Abschnitt 10.6.1) geliefert. Der Umgebungstemperaturbereich beträgt –20 °C bis 60 °C.
