Heating cables

Waermekabel

All heating cables can be supplied for explosionproof installations. Our heating cables comprise two basic groups: self-limiting heating cables and those with constant heating capacity per unit length. They are used for antifreeze protection, deicing, and heating of pipelines, containers, tanks, piping accessories, valves and instrumentation lines.

Self-limiting heating cables provide variable heating capacity as a function of the temperature. They can contact each other or overlap, and are reliable even without temperature monitoring. The cables are connected at one end, and can simply be cut to the required length at site.

The conventional cables with constant heating capacity per unit length come in versions connected at both ends and versions connected at one end. The parallel heating cables have the advantage of providing constant capacity per unit length and being severable to suit the existing pattern of heating sections.

Heating mats are produced as specials to suit particular applications. Any of our heating cables can be used in these mats. Because they are made up on a plastic our wire mesh support, the mats are easy to install on tanks, containers and surfaces; in this case there is no need to apportion the cable per unit area at site.

Heated analysis hoses are also fitted with our heating cables. Depending on the duty conditions, the cables are attached either to an internal Teflon hose or, in a special version, to flexible tubes of chrome nickel steel. The heated hoses are insulated and protected against physical damage by a plastic sheath. The end connections developed by us prevent any leakage. Heated high-pressure PTFE hoses are used for foaming, coating, spraying and casting, because highly viscous media can be handled more easily at high pressure.

Any of the heating cables, heating mats or heated hoses can be supplied with temperature monitoring or temperature control.
