Multipurpose distribution, switching and control units in "non-sparking nA" protection

The multipurpose control boxes (categories 3 G and 3 D) are designed for Zone 2 areas at risk of gas explosions to EN 60079-15 and for Zone 22 to EN 50281-1-1. The enclosures can be made of stove-enameled sheet steel, stainless sheet steel, or polyester. In addition to standard enclosures, special enclosures are fabricated to customer specifications. The polyester enclosures can be combined like building blocks using plug-in flange joints. The same openings also accept flanges fitted with cable glands. Shielded cables are installed together with brass flanges holding suitable cable glands for integration into an equipotential bonding system.
The installation of terminals and components in the explosion-proof distribution, switching and control units is restricted in such a way that the surface temperatures of the box remain in compliance with the respective temperature class in spite of the internal dissipation power. In the case of "non-sparking nA" protection, the hottest spot on the components inside the enclosure is checked.
