Multipurpose distribution, switching and control units in "restricted breathing nR" protection

The comprehensive control box range is designed for areas at risk of gas explosions that are designated Zone 2 to EN 60079-0 and EN 60079-15 or Zone 22 to EN 61241-1. Restricted breathing en-closures are designed to restrict the penetration of gas. The enclosures can be made of stove-enameled steel, stainless steel or polyester. In addition to the standard enclosures, special enclosures are fabricated to customer specifications. The polyester enclosures offer a special advantage: they can be combined like building blocks or fitted with cable glands using plug-in flange joints. If shielded cables are installed, brass flanges holding suitable cable glands are available for integrating the cable shields into an equipotential bonding system. The multipurpose control boxes can be readied for wall mounting or be provided with a stand or support arm to meet customer wishes.

Non-explosionproof components are installed inside the multipurpose power distribution, switching and control units in protection type restricted breathing enclosure «nR». Any devices installed in the enclosure's outer envelope must be built to a standardized type of protection for the relevant category, 3G or 3 D. The devices installed in the enclosure's outer wall must meet the fundamental requirements of the conformity assessment procedure with regard to thermal resistance, impact testing and the IP degree of protection.
