The explosionproof leakage warning device Leaksonic MPC08 detects high frequency sounds that can occur when gases escape from a pipeline, a flange or fittings. The electronics in the Leaksonic leak detector enable process systems in the petrochemical industry to be monitored for leakage. The Leaksonic is used in plants in the petrochemical industry to detect leaks as early as possible.
The Leaksonic is used in explosive gas atmospheres in Zones 1 and 2 according to IEC 60079-10-1 and is permanently installed. The Leaksonic satisfies the requirements of IEC 60079-0, IEC 60079-1 and IEC 60079-11 and is developed, manufactured and tested in accordance with the latest technological developments according to ISO 9001:2008.
The electronic circuitry is housed in a flameproof enclosure complying with the requirements of Zone 1, Gas Group IIC, and Temperature Class T4, and having IP 54 or IP66, degree of protection.
The basic software enables the background noise and the ultrasonic signal to be measured and the alarm set points selected. Various delay times and threshold values can be programmed, and communication via the LAN interface is effected with a simple protocol and one of the standard LAN browsers. Various customized functions are available as optional extras, including visualization on a PC in the control room. The microphone and the loudspeaker are potted in a separate enclosure and screwed onto the flameproof enclosure. Both the microphone and the loudspeaker are intrinsically safe, Ex ib IIC T4 Gb. Optionally, power is supplied via a cable gland or an explosionproof plug-in connection.
